The first of a recent series of reports of exposed Gurus is the arrest of Shiv Murat Dwivedi or ‘Ichchadhari Sant Swami Bhimanand Ji Maharaj’, as he was called by his followers, on 26th February 2010.

It was big news in Indian TV channels: a guru running a sex racket, not only in the capital of Delhi but spreading his ‘business’ across India and further. Some didn’t want to believe it when they saw the news the next day. Police arrested the man together with six of his high-profile call girls while they were just about to meet a client for making a deal.

After previous encounters with the police Dwivedi had decided to change his image and to become a spiritual master, a great cover for his illegal activities. He was giving discourses, published CDs and even built a hospital with space for 200 people to show his charitable attitude. Many people visited his programs and gave donations, many became disciples.

And some of his disciples also paid for other services. The fake guru had records of more than 200 women, including air hostesses, students and housewives who worked for him.
